I am beck_liz on Livejournal, Insanejournal, and Twitter (locked, if you request access and your username is the same as on LJ or DW, I'll add you; if not, PM me and let me know who you are), beck-liz on Tumblr and manticoran on JournalFen (changing my name over there, too, seemed like too much trouble).

I am, to quote Sandy Herrold, a "fannish butterfly". I've been in so many fandoms, mostly fairly quietly, that I can barely remember all of the main ones sometimes, let alone the peripheral ones. Fandoms I have been in or are currently in: Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9 and most recently the 2009 movie), Star Wars (original and TPM), Babylon 5, The X-files, The Sentinel, Highlander, Smallville (all 10 years!!!), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Farscape, Firefly/Serenity, Due South, West Wing, Sports Night, LotR, Harry Potter (Harry and Snape are my favorites along with Hermione), Battlestar Galactica (2004), Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes, Merlin, White Collar, Leverage, Bones, Fringe, The Good Wife, Castle, NCIS (original flavor only), The Legend of the Seeker, American Idol (Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, David Cook), figure skating (Johnny Weir!), Hawaii Five-O (2010), Castle, Justified, and most obsessively, Doctor Who (I love all modern companions, so please no companion bashing here), and Torchwood (yes, even after Children of Earth - I love Jack and Gwen).

I am also the mod of the LJ newsletters who_daily and torchwood_three and post the regular Saturday edition of the latter newsletter.

I also love history, am ... interested in and frequently appalled by politics (although I only rarely talk about it), and I adore music of all stripes. Except for most rap, opera, and Country & Western, although there are exceptions to everything.

I am half on LJ and half on Dreamwidth, so if you're either mostly on Dreamwidth or at least crossposting everything there, I'm following you there. Same with LiveJournal; if you're mostly or only posting there, I'm following you there. I post many things publicly, but I do post locked and filtered, depending on the subject matter, although I don't post that much filtered anymore. I'm not crossposting consistently to either JournalFen or InsaneJournal, and not keeping up with the flists there as well as I would like.

If I added have you, it's because I found your journal interesting (at least some of the time :-)) and I was reading it often enough that I didn't feel like tracking it down all the time. If you're wondering where I found you? I'm an inveterate web-searcher, and also if someone makes interesting comments in other people's journals, I usually want to see if they have anything else interesting to say. That's it. Don't feel like you have to friend me back; I don't mind at all if you do, but I don't mind if you don't. I completely understand having too-large friends lists.

I do allow anonymous comments, but they will remain screened unless they prove they aren't trolls or spammers. Also, if you are commenting anonymously, please sign your name so I know who I'm talking to.
